RV There Yet? – Game Review

Over the years, we’ve seen all kinds of rage games — from Getting Over It to chaotic co-op challenges like Chained Together.
Now there’s a new twist: a game where you and your friends pile into an RV and try to drive it without wrecking it. Every bump, turn, and bad decision puts the whole vehicle at risk. It’s not just about skill — it’s about trusting your friends not to panic, overcorrect, or completely sabotage the ride.
Story
You and your friends are heading home after a relaxing vacation when you’re suddenly forced to take a risky alternate route. Now, you must carefully navigate a complex path without wrecking the RV. One wrong turn, one bad call, or one overcorrection could spell disaster — and getting home safely depends on teamwork, coordination, and trusting each other not to mess it all up.
Gameplay
This game is built on teamwork and trust. From the driver’s seat to the back of the RV, every player has a role, and plenty of tools to manage. You’ll scavenge for scrap to patch up damage, hunt for repair tools to fix critical parts, and work together to keep more than just the outer shell intact.
Each new run changes the odds. Items spawn randomly, routes shift, and danger doesn’t just come from sharp turns or bad driving. The wilderness has its own threats. Bears are relentless, they’ll chase you down and tear your RV apart piece by piece. Your only real defense? If you’re lucky enough to find bear spray, you might be able to drive them off before they do serious damage.
It sounds simple, just drive an RV home.

The driver’s job is more demanding than it sounds. You’re not just steering, you’re manually shifting gears, managing speed, and carefully handling reverse. Push it too hard or hesitate at the wrong moment, and you could send the RV straight into disaster. Precision matters.
And as mentioned before, tools are everything. One of the most useful is a wired wrench system that runs from the front to the back of the RV, paired with a remote you can find inside. With it, you can temporarily control the RV from a distance, a lifesaver when you’re stuck, wedged in a tight spot, or moments away from rolling over.
Along your journey home, you’ll scavenge for more than just repair supplies. You’ll uncover food, clothing, and other items that add personality and a bit of fun to the chaos.
The experience shines brightest with four players, each managing different responsibilities. Still, whether you’re braving the road solo or teaming up with up to three friends, the trip home is anything but a smooth ride.
Visuals and sound
It’s a pretty simple game, and the ragdoll moments can be genuinely funny. I did notice a few bugs while playing, though.
The player model looks a bit odd, like it’s completely black in certain situations, but the sound design is solid. Performance-wise, we tested it on a GTX 960M and it ran great, which was a nice surprise.

Minor problems
Once again, the graphics and character model have a noticeable bug where your body turns completely black, which definitely needs fixing.
The bear encounters are intense, but maybe a little too intense. If you don’t get lucky and spawn with bear spray at the start, the situation can feel almost impossible to recover from. It comes across as more punishing than challenging.
It would be great to see more defensive options added, along with better access to essential tools early on. Having important items spawn closer to the starting area would make the experience feel more balanced without taking away the tension.

Overall
Overall, despite the minor bugs, I had a great time playing this with my friends. It’s chaotic, stressful, and hilarious all at the same time. I’m excited to see how the developers continue to improve and expand the game, and I’m really glad it won a Steam award. Hopefully that recognition encourages them to keep building on what they’ve started.
