Craftopia: Worth playing?

So when I last played this game back in 2020 I left it alone for a while.
Now it’s 2026, and there have been a lot of changes and improvements.

So lets start off with the game

Small Story

So small short story to anyone that hasn’t played this it starts with the nuke button destroying the world, then you are greeted by God to revive the planet and for you to create the world.

Pretty much the story as you just get dropped in.

So about the Gameplay? What’s different from legacy to the latest?

So I like to make of this game as a rpg open world meets sid meier civilization meets Pokémon and your basic building survival.
From 2020 there use to be islands you are on and to go to other small island there was a portal thing you made to move to another island now when i played in 2026 crafttopia has completely changed from that to a seamless world, which is amazing.

At the start you will stumble to a small village with a person to ask you to repair the towers. These are a key importance as they will help you upgrade the ages like civ games that you start from cave man era to the next era and so on.

There are many other towers for you to repair and upgrade.
Combat is very good once you set your skill tree but i will say controls for game pad could be improved a little
When you level up you get a skill tree from basic, magic, combat, living, Also, a locked skill called tamer But in order to unlock that, you must get a pet station.

Now, the taming system, once you get that pet station, any captured things can be converted to your tamed pets, and wow, they did a good job. They will level up in the game and you can even give them new moves as well.

Moving on to temples and dungeons, they are really great. There are main boss fights in big temples around the worl.d There are a total of 10 main temple boss fights and many open-world fights to keep you busy.

Exploring is really good, and dungeon hunting is rewarding as each one has a blueprint of a weapon or other things in the game.

Craftopia

You have a main mission, sub-missions and open world mission from villagers

I really love the food making in the game, as there are loads to make and create and a lot of things you need to acquire in the game is pretty easy and less grindy.

Crafting things is great and there is so many things to make. Getting the stuff is pretty easy and you can add a tracker in case you forget things

There’s a lot they have done and the visuals are amazing. The song gets repetitive but still relaxing.

But here are my complaints

When it comes to the building its ok but as well very stressful. Putting a floor on grass is something that is annoying because the grass grows through. Another thing is placing things in the game. Trying to get your house built has a small limit to how far you can place stuff. The building movement needs to be seriously improved, with some of the building peices needs to be improved and I’m talking about some doorframes.

Another thing is controller support, having to press RB on my Xbox controller and B is something I never thought would be used in a game.

Overall

Over all im having a great time on pc i hope they can update the stuff from the Xbox as it’s still in the time where I played in 2020, but from what i have heard.

This year, they are working to expand the seamless world and stuff to have as well.

They recently added a thing called Empty Island, so you can make your very own seamless world. I can see some Zelda vibes with this, some amazing, massive worlds. I’m glad I started playing this again and I’m looking forward to this year’s stuff. They have done a lot on Palworld, and i hope they keep this game going.
